WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2012 – DOES IT INCLUDE YOU?

The United Nations started World Environment Day on the 5th of June 40 years ago, and the theme this year is GREEN ECONOMY:DOES IT INCLUDE YOU?

There are 2 parts to this year’s theme, the first being GREEN ECONOMY. The U.N. defines this as being something that results in “ improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.” Think low carbon, resource efficient and socially inclusive!

The second part of the theme this year involves YOU! The U.N. basically asks you to consider your role in the Green Economy that surrounds you and how you can get involved.
