Kelly and Christina’s “Fat feud” goes waaaaaay back! Christina used to call Kelly “fat”, and when the tables turned and Kelly lost the weight, Christina had just gone through a divorce and started piling the weight on herself.
Kelly say’s “I call myself an FFP (former fat person). And when you’re an FFP, you will always see in yourself what people used to bully you for. I grew up on the road with my father—yes, Ozzy Osbourne—but I came from a very, very small village, where everyone called me Kelly Smelly With the Big Belly Whose Dad’s on the Telly. It hurt so badly to be judged like that. Even now I don’t consider myself skinny. But I have put a lot of hard work into my body over the years, and in the process, I’ve really learned to love myself.”
Kelly claimed that “she was never THAT fat” with regards to Christina, and many people called her on this, saying it was untrue, she HAD been! Kelly is a judge on Fashion Police and she stands by her comment, “#%&@ you…now you’re fat too!” after her years of nasty comments from Christina.
Having recently lost a bit of weight….not a huge amount (7kg’s), I too understand Kelly’s “fat comments” and find it incredibly annoying. Why do people spend so much time and effort concentrating on what other people look like and not on far more positive issues. A week ago a patient of mine said to me, “Oh my God, you have lost sooooo much weight! When I met you in October I left you walking away thinking how on earth could someone let themselves go like this?” Really? Is that not something you keep to yourself?
Why can people not give simple compliments, like “You look amazing” instead of “My soul you’ve lost half your body weight!”, or they could say, “You look fantastic” and not “Oh my Gosh you look great……cos you were soooo fat before”. The compliment kinda got lost on the last one!
Have any of you experienced bitchy weight comments, and what were they?
