A dentist in Japan bought a practice in November last year and has spent the past 2 months giving it a new look…..pink examination rooms, heart-shaped waiting chairs and even pink chandeliers. According to its website, the practice is currently offering a wide range of dental procedures, including implants, cosmetic dentistry, prophylaxis, and periodontal and paediatric treatment, but is supported by SANRIO, who owns the Hello Kitty brand, and who’s head office is only 20 minutes away!
Last year, the Hello Kitty brand was reported to have generated over ¥80 billion (US$1.04 billion) revenues in Japan alone. It seems the Japanese are Kitty mad and patients have been flocking to get a piece of the cute little cat with the white face while they are having their teeth done…….a few weeks into business and they are fully booked! And NO…….my dear patients……I am sooo not going down that route!
