13 Children and 6 adults have died in a fire in The Villagio Mall in Doha. The fire broke out in the first floor nursery, and fire fighters had to break through the roof after the staitcase to the nursery collapsed. It seems neither the fire alarm, nor the sprinkler system was working .
Amongst the dead were triplets, Lillie, Jackson and Willsher Weekes of New Zealand. Three young brothers from Spain were also killed in the fire. A Cape Town women who was teaching at the nursery, also died in the blaze and will be buried in Doha today.
