CUT THE SALT AND REDUCE THE BLOATING

It may not be summer, but we still want to look good in our swimwear and underwear. Apart from the obvious, such as cutting back on the kilojoules, drinking more water and upping the amount of exercise you do…..cut back on the salt.

Salt makes you retain water and feel and look bloated. This also means that you need to eat fresh foods and not canned foods, and ask for sauce on the side when you got out to eat. Try eating a few more smaller meals throughout the day rather than 2 or 3 large ones too!

Don’t cut salt out of your diet completely as it helps to control the way your nerves and muscles work, but try to stick to the recommended daily allowance of 6g if you are over 11 years of age, or anything from 2-5g if you are below 11!
