This amazingly bubbly personality is way more than just a gorgeous face, body and voice, and when you meet her you quickly realise why she is known by those close to her as “Little Miss Sunshine”. Bailey recently went through a body and life transforming experience thanks to SABC 3 and USN, and I chatted to her about her stunning new bod, amongst other things.
When SABC3 approached Bailey to take part in the USN Celebrity challenge, she said she was a tad dubious about the real results of USN, as the magazine ads always show these drastic body changes which scream “Photoshop!” The 12 week USN Body and Lifestyle challenge was not only one of the hardest things Bailey admits to having done, but after pushing through and losing 22% body fat, Bailey was grateful for those “Before and after” pics and realised that Photoshop wasn’t needed for her pics either!
A goal of being fit and healthy was the only goal Bailey wanted to set! No goal weight , Bailey just wanted to be the best version of herself, and she sure managed to tick that box! Bailey kept friends and fans updated through her blog, Vanilla Blonde, keeping it real, and managing in turn to motivate others to start their own weight loss challenges.
Bailey gyms 5 times a week, 3 days of which are for at least an hour. Combining cardio with weight training has been her secret to getting that perfect balance between toning and building the right amount of muscle for fat loss and strength. Bailey also stressed how important is is to get a personal trainer to help you, especially in the beginning, and to interview a few, as they are essentially working for you!
A healthy balanced diet with loads of veggies, low GI carbs and lean protein keeps Bailey’s blood sugar levels balanced and stops her from craving unhealthy snacks, which she still never denies herself, but just has them in moderation. Favourite snacks include the USN strawberry and chocolate protein shakes, sliced apples dipped into peanut butter, and lean biltong.
